Quality studies show that it’s possible to improve your depression or low mood, naturally.

You may not know if you’re experiencing depression or a passing low mood. Either way, science shows that the following protocols might help you to lift your mood.

If you’re taking medication for any mental health condition, please don’t stop taking it until you’ve found someone to support you and/or talked to the doctor who prescribes your medication as you should hopefully need to reduce your dose once taking any or all of the actions identified below.

  1. Getting the right amount of sleep FOR YOU, and having a healthy sleep habit. ie going to bed and getting up at the same time every day.
  2. Getting daylight as often and as early in the day as possible.
  3. Eating 20g (4 or 5) Brazil Nuts every day to boost your serotonin levels naturally.
  4. Take 1g of EPA daily which you’ll find within a good quality Omega 3 supplement (like these). That could be by taking fish oil, krill oil, or a vegan EPA supplement. 
  5. Move your body. Get outside and take a gentle walk, Dance in your bedroom. It all counts.
